The beginning of raining season (Nov 2013)
Homalomena insignis
Homalomena insignis (aroid) usually got 2 colour variant: Green one (left) & the maroon-brown one (right).
Rainy season is also the fruit season in Borneo. And of course, we won't miss to eat the King of tropical fruit: Durian (Durio spp.)!!!
If you come to Borneo in rainy season, don't forget try this fruit called ENGKALAK (Butter Fruit of Borneo) ~ Scientific name is Litsea garciae. The meat is taste a bit like coconut.

New genus names for barbs
Please take note that all tiger barb & related species has changed the genus name from "Puntius" to "Puntigrus".

Bucephalandra pygmaea from Sintang of Kalimantan Barat (old photos)
This small type of Bucephalandra from Sintang area of Kalimantan Barat is Bucephalandra pygmaea (photographed in 2011). It looks completely different from the one that I found in Kapit & Kanowit of Sarawak.
