Kuching was hit by flash flood!

5th January 2012, a lot of places in Kuching & nearby areas were hit by flash flood after more than 12 hours of heavy downpour. One young lady and a rescuer were swept away by strong water current. However, the water was receding fast. At noon, no more flood in most of the urban areas except some low lying areas. The water level of Sarawak river still very high & the current is very strong! Photo below was taken at Batu Kitang weir.
