White sandy Kerangas forest (Sarawak 07 Oct. 2017)

First time found a few colonies of tiny Crematogaster ants that building nests on the shrubs in the hot & dry Kerangas forest. I think those ants are very unique species of ant which collect nectar from pitcher plants.

St. Valentine ant  (Crematogaster sp.) The ant has a heart-shaped gaster.

The ant nests are building on small tree near pitcher plants.

Petrified wood river & 2-tiers waterfall

We found a two-tiers waterfall by accident when we're walking along the river to see petrified wood (fossil). I also saw the whole hill burnt into ashed by farmers & the whole colony of Begonia baik is destroyed by fire. Sad sad sad. :-(

Today, we found so many petrified woods (fossil) than usual. The villagers know this stone but nobody can remove them from the river cos these stones are very heavy.
