Visiting an Iban's longhouse at Batang Lemanak

Iban people is the majority people in Sarawak. Usually, they build their longhouse near the riverbank.

Upper part of Sebako fall in western Sarawak

Some shots taken at upper part of Sebako waterfall. Due to heavy rain in the summit area, the water was rising in very short time.....luckily, we managed to cross the river to safe ground before it's too late.






Fauna of Batang Lemanak (part 1)

Yellow-breasted flowerpecker (Prionochilus maculatus). It is like a fur ball when the bird sleeps at night.

Rufous-tailed tailorbird (Orthotomus sericeus).


 Abisara kausambi, Family: Riodinidae. (butterfly)

Some snakes from the jungle of Sarawak

Mangrove cat snake (Boiga dendrophila) is sleeping on tree branches.


Wagler's pit viper (Tropidolaemus wagleri). This one below is juvenile.

Smooth skin slug snake (Asthenodipsas laevis). - this small snake eats slug.

Piptospatha elongata from Sematan area

Piptospatha elongata only found in granite mountains of western Sarawak and nearby Kalimantan border.

This one below is Piptospatha elongata "variegated leaf"....first time found it!!! It's very rare.

Visiting Bucephalandra "dark grey" in raining season

I went back to visit the jungle stream where I found Bucephlandra "dark grey" & found out water level is a bit higher & some plants got a layer of soil/clay on the leaves surface.....


The young leaf of this one is brownish colour!!!
