Birds from southern Malay Peninsula

White Throated Kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis) is very common in the oil palm estate of Johor but I never seen it in Borneo before...

The male Jungle fowl (Gallus gallus). This is NOT chicken from farm or near village. It is a wild one. It has "white ears" & grey coloured feet which is different from the chicken in the farms. This one can fly at least 3 meter from the ground & very shy to Human.

Black-naped oriole (Oriolus chinensis).

Asian koel (Eudynamys scolopacea) is very common in urban areas of Malay Peninsula.....I remembered I was waken up by this noisy bird almost every morning when I was studying in Petaling Jaya.

Shrike (Lanius sp.)
