Jungle birds of Borneo

This is a juvenile cuckoo.

It is hungry & keep on calling its "mother".....

Finally, it got something to eat: a caterpillar.

Not far away, this black & yellow broadbill (Eurylaimus ochromalus) is watching the cuckoo. Can u believe this is the parent of cuckoo? Cuckoo's original mother lay the egg on the nest of this broadbill. When the egg is hatched, the young cuckoo bird will kick out the broadbill's eggs & it becomes the only young bird in the nest. The broadbill will treat it as its juvenile & feed it until it become adult. Cuckoo is like a "pirate" in the bird's world.

This is a couple of brown Barbet (Calorhamphus fuliginosus). They come for "jungle food festival" ; a fig tree is bearing fruits now.
